Duringthewinterof2008herolled13giantsnowballsnearhishomeinScotland.Hefilledeachonewithasurpriseinthecenter–suchasberriesfeatherslittlestonesorsheep’swool–whichwouldappearasthesnowmelted.ThefinishedsnowballswerestoredinadeepfreezeuntilsummerthentransportedtoLondoninrefrigeratedtrucks.AtmidnightonJune212008whilethecitysleptGoldsworthyandhishelpersrolledtheirsnowballsintoplace.
Peoplewalkingtoworkorschoolmusthavethoughttheskywasfallingwhentheystumbledacrosssnowballsthesizeofbabyelephants.Someofthemhadneverevenseensnowinreallifeandtheycouldn’thelptouchingthemingreatsurprise.Asthesnowstartedtomeltthingsgotevenmoreinteresting.Theperfectlyroundsnowballstookondifferentshapesasthestuffinsidebegantopokethrough.TwodayslatermostofGoldsworthy’ssnowballsweregoneandtheirfillingsscattered.ButLondonerswereleftwithareallygoodstoryaboutthatoddsummerdaywhenthesnowballcame.
