KenRobertsthemanwhofoundtheharehadbeenlookingforitfornearlytwoyears.Althoughhehadbeensearchinginthewrongareamostofthetimehefounditbylogicnotbyluck.Hissuccesscamefromthefactthathehadgainedanimportantclueatthestart.Hehadrealizedthatthewords:“OneofSixtoEight”underthefirstpictureinthebookconnectedthehareinsomewaytoKatherineofAragonthefirstofHenryVIII’ssixwives.EvenherehoweverWilliamshadsucceededinmisleadinghim.KenknewthatKatherineofAragonhaddiedatKimboltoninCambridgeshirein1536andthoughtthatWilliamshadburiedtheharethere.Hehadbeendiggingthereforoverayearbeforeanewideaoccurredtohim.HefoundoutthatKitWilliamshadspenthischildhoodnearAmpthillinBedfordshireandthoughtthathemusthaveburiedthehareinaplaceheknewwellbuthestillcouldnotseetheconnectionwithKatherineofAragonuntilonedayhecameacrosstwostonecrossesinAmpthillParkandlearntthattheyhadbeenbuiltinherhonorin1773.

Eventhenhissearchhadnotcometoanend.ItwasonlyafterhehadspentseveralnightsdiggingaroundthecrossthathedecidedtowritetoKitWilliamstofindoutifhewaswastinghistimethere.WilliamsencouragedhimtocontinueandonFebruary24th1982hefoundthetreasure.Itwasworth₤3000inthebeginningbuttheexcitementithadcausedsinceitsburialmadeitmuchmorevaluable.
