5.ATSTCONTROLSERVICES(ATCS)
TheATCSprovidesthefollowingservices:
5.1.LIFECYCLEMANAGEMENT
Thisserviceisprovidedthroughastandardcontainer/componentmodel.WhiletheimplementationofthelifecyclemanagementiscurrentlyTBD,itincludesthefollowingfeatures:
•Componentstart,stop,andstatusmonitoring
•Resourceallocationandreallocation
•Configurationcontrolthroughaconfigurationdatabase.
5.2.SERVICESSUPPORT
ATCScontainersprovideaccesstothecommonservicesforallmodules(commonlycalledcomponents-butrenamedmodulestoavoidconfusionwithVirtualInstrumentComponents),guaranteeingconsistentinterfaceswithotherpartsoftheATSTsystemwhilefreeingthemoduledevelopersfromhavingtoreimplementcommonsysteminterfacesandallowingdeveloperstoconcentrateontheirfunctionalinterfaces.Containersallowtheseparationofthelogicalbehaviorofamodulefromitsphysicallocation.
5.3.COMMAND/ACTION
TheCommand/ResponseinterfaceprovidedbyATCSisthebasicmechanismforallComponentcontrol.TheCommand/ResponseinterfaceismodelledaftersimilarapproachesusedinGeminiandSOLISandisdescribeddetailinTBD.Briefly,theactofcommandingasystemtoperformsomeactionisseparatedfromtheresponsefromthatsystemwhentheactioniscomplete.
