Pengzhou(Chinese:彭州;pinyin:Péngzhōu),formerlyPengCountyorPengxian,isacounty-levelcityinSichuan,China,some19km(11.81mi)northwestofChengdu.ThereisanexpresswaythatconnectsPengzhoutoChengdu.
Ithasanareaof1420squarekilometersandapopulationof803,400in2009.[1]Pengzhouisfamousforbeingoneofthethreenationalbasesofpeonyplantationandoneofthefivenationalbasesofvegetableplantationandmerchandise.Pengzhou'sindustryvariesfrompharmaceuticaltopetrochemical.Thenewlybuiltoilrefineryattractsatotalinvestmentof38billionyuan,consideredtobethebiggestsingleinvestmentofSichuanProvincesince1949.[2]Likeotherregionsaroundthearea,Pengzhouwasbadlyaffectedbythe2008SichuanEarthquake.
