Timeschange.Thedefinitionof"student"oncewas"onewhostudiessomething".Todayitcanmeanmerely"onewhoattendsaschool,collegeoruniversity".Thismoderndefinitiondoesn'tevensuggestthatthepersondoesmorethan"attend".Collegeanduniversityprofessorsstillusethefirstdefinition,andschoolshaveways(suchasrequirements,examsandgrades)toattempttoensurethatthosewhoattendwillalsostudyandlearnsomething.
