     Lifeisbusyandexciting．Bangkokisjustlikeanyotherbigcitywithapopulationof10 millionandheavytraffic．I'mveryluckybecausemyhostfamilyisinanicequietareaoutside thecity．ThereareMr.andMrs.PhairattheirsonSananwhois18thedaughterChindawho is16andGrandpaandGrandma．  

IgotoaninternationalschoolwithSananandChinda．Theschoolteachesabout70percent inEnglish，and30percentinThai.I'velearnedsomespokenlanguage，butThaiwritingisverydifficult．Thecookinglessonismyfavourite．I'mlearningallaboutThaifoodandculturePeopledon’tusechopstickshere，butspoonsandforks．WhenIcomeback，I'mgoingtocookyouarealThaimeal．   

Lastweekendwevisitedsometemples．WealsodrovetoPattayabeachnearBangkok．I thoughtitwasgreat，butSananandChindasaythatnextmonththey’retakingmetoPhuket Island，wherethebeachesareevenmorebeautiful．Themonthafternext，we’regoingtotravel toMr．Phairat，shometowninthenorthofThailand．ThePhairatsownlandthere，andthey havetwoelephants．I’mgoingtoridethoseelephants—andevenwashthem．Sananand Chindasayit’sreallyfun．   

I'mamazedbyeverythinginthiscountry，especiallybytheelephants．Elephantsarean importantpanofThaicultureandwayoflife．Theyhavebeenatraditionalsymbol(象征)of Thailandformanyyearsintimesofwarandpeace．Intheseventhcentury，aThaikingtrained20，000elephantsforbattle．
