Incontrastwithmarriage,therearenofriendshipceremoniestostrengthentheassociationbetweentwopersons.Butthesupportingandunderstandingofeachotherthatresultsfromsharedexperiencesandemotionsdoesseemtocreateapowerfulbond,whichcanovercomedifferencesinbackground,andbreakdownbarriersofage,classorrace.
